Each March, the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra presents six free concerts for Tri-State area children in grades 3—5. The concerts are conducted by EPO Music Director Alfred Savia . Over 1,500 children from Illinois and Kentucky attend the concerts, as well as 1,000 children from outside the Philharmonic service region.
Participating schools receive a teacher's guide and a compact disk to help teachers prepare the students for the concerts.
Next season's Young People's Concerts will be held March 14-16, 2012 at the Victory Theatre in downtown Evansville. There will be two performances each morning at 9:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. For more information, call the Philharmonic Education Department at 812.425.5050, ext. 316, to request an application packet or download the brochure and registration form at the links below.
