Each season an ensemble of principal musicians from the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra present 45-minute programs for pre-school, kindergarten and day-care children. These unique concerts introduce classical music to the children, and teach them about the instruments of the orchestra and about basic musical concepts. They also receive personal contact with the musicians. This gives teachers an opportunity to teach and reinforce audience skills. Teachers also receive a Study Guide in advance to prepare the students for the event.
The 2010-2011 Lollipop Concerts will take place on November 1-3, 2010 and April 4-6, 2011. There will be two performances each morning at 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.
Over 3,000 children attend these popular concerts. Pre-registration is required as space is limited.
