Beethoven’s Kings & Emperors
Saturday, February 16, 2013 • 7:00 PM
Featuring: Norman Krieger, Piano
Don’t miss your Philharmonic performing Beethoven’s King Stephen Overture for the first time! Experience pianist Norman Krieger’s awe-inspiring performance of Beethoven’s best-known and grandest piano concerto, the “Emperor”. The Washington Post calls Krieger “…an artist of unusual sensitivity with the technical control to do absolutely anything he wants and the sense to do so poetically.”
Then, feel Beethoven’s passion during his stirring Symphony No. 7, featured in the Academy Award-winning film “The King’s Speech”. This rhythmically-charged piece energizes the soul. Say goodbye to stress and get caught up in the sheer joy of what Beethoven called his “most excellent symphony”!
