WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO
The Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra is comprised of 80 professional musicians, many of whom have graduated from the finest music schools in the country, including Indiana University and the University of Evansville. Many of these highly talented musicians live and work in Evansville and are long-time orchestra members.
The Philharmonic performs concerts from September through May, including:
- 6-concert Classics Series
- 5-concert Pops Series
- 6 Educational Youth Concerts
- Handel's Messiah by Candlelight
- Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker in collaboration with the Evansville Dance Theatre
The Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra is the largest arts institution in the Tri-State area. Since 1934 the Orchestra has presented quality programs that appeal to musical tastes ranging from Beethoven to the Beatles. Each year the Orchestra treats audiences to a multi-concert season that features the works of classical and pops composers, plus several special event concerts. The music of the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra is a source of joy, solace, and inspiration to thousands of people.
