Evansville philharmonic Orchestra TO MOVE administrative OFFICES
Evansville, IN - The Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra is pleased to announce its administrative offices will be moving into the newly renovated Walker Building owned by The Kunkel Group. As of October 18, 2010, the Philharmonic's new office location will be 401 SE 6th Street, Suite 105, Evansville 47708. The Philharmonic's administrative offices are currently located at 530 Main Street, where they have been for the last 11 years.
The Philharmonic had been renting its office space since the summer of 1999 at 530 Main Street, a property owned by Group 5 LLC. Its lease was set to expire May 31, 2010 and in early 2010 Group 5 LLC notified the Philharmonic that they did not intend to renew the lease in that they had had several inquiries about the property considering its proximity to the new arena being constructed. The property was purchased by Robie Properties, LLC effective July 9, 2010. At that time, the Philharmonic was not offered an extended lease but rather the Philharmonic and Robie Properties, LLC entered into an agreement allowing each party to give the other 90 days notice to terminate the lease. In discussions with the Philharmonic, Robie Properties, LLC indicated they were seeking other uses for the building due to its prime location. The Philharmonic decided to be proactive in seeking a suitable location.
The new location offers the Philharmonic a larger office space, in addition to other benefits. "The new space will serve all of our administrative and music library storage needs. Also, as a non-profit organization, the Philharmonic relies heavily on volunteers and the convenient parking and wheelchair accessibility of the Walker Building will allow us to better serve our patrons and volunteers," says Glenn Roberts, executive director of the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra. "We are delighted, too, that the Kunkel Group has worked with us to keep our annual rental costs level to what they were at our Main Street location."
Chuck Harper of the The Kunkel Group adds, "The Kunkel Group is ecstatic to welcome The Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra to our growing list of stellar tenants in the former Welborn Hospital. The Evansville Philharmonic epitomizes how we envisioned this property. The Kunkel Group has transformed their space into a highly functional and gorgeous office. We take immense pride in their decision to move their operations into our property."
The location of the Philharmonic's administrative offices is the only change. The orchestra will still perform in the Victory Theatre. The Philharmonic's mailing address will remain the same: P.O. Box 84, Evansville, IN 47701-0084. Patrons can still purchase tickets just as they always have: by calling the Philharmonic Box Office at (812) 425 - 5050 or ordering online at www.evansvillephilharmonic.org.
The Philharmonic's offices will be closed Thursday, October 14 and Friday, October 15 to make the move. The office will be closed Monday, October 18 for office set-up and systems training. The offices will re-open to the general public at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 19.
