EVANSVILLE - As the next step in this season's campaign to increase audiences with reduced ticket prices, the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra has launched two new discounts for younger people.
They've cut student "rush" tickets to $8 and created club2030, offering those 18 to 39 years old the best available seats for both Classics and Pops concerts for $12.
As of Saturday, Nov. 13, student rush tickets for Classics and Pops concerts will go for $8. Previously, the student tickets, available at the door an hour before each performance, were $11-$13 including fees.
People ages 18-39 can register now for club2030 on the Philharmonic's website www.evansvillephilharmonic.org. There is no membership fee for this program, whose members can buy Philharmonic tickets online for $10, plus an additional $2 Internet fee.
Members get the $10 price for best available seats at the time of purchase. They can pick up tickets at The Victory two hours before the concert.
As an added incentive, those who register for club2030 by Dec. 1 will automatically enter a drawing for a "night on the town" package including two Philharmonic concert tickets and a $25 gift certificate to Western Rib-Eye & Ribs.
