Maestro Savia Welcomes You to the 2008–2009 Pops Series!

This season is particularly near and dear to my heart as it is my 20^th season serving as Music Director for the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra. As we celebrate 74 years of providing live, symphonic music to the Tri-State, we invite you to share our passion for music throughout this season: “A Season of Love.”

We kick off our Pops Series with one of the most incredible jazz musicians alive today — GRAMMY award winner Paquito d’Rivera and his Jazz Quintet! Then enjoy stellar performances from 3 Broadway stars as we celebrate the timeless music of Rodgers & Hammerstein. Pianist Rich Ridenour combines his unique humor and musicianship in a tribute to Hollywood and the piano. And our “Peppermint Pops,” entitled “Christmas Through the Eyes of Children,” features the extraordinary and world-renowned Indianapolis Children’s Choir!
