The engaging and humorous Rich Ridenour, who has played his “Piano Pops” concerts with orchestras all over the United States, joins the Philharmonic for a tribute to Hollywood and its love affair with the piano. The program showcases Ridenour in Addinsell’s “Warsaw Concerto” (from Dangerous Moonlight), and the Top 10 most requested movie hits featuring the piano, including music from The Sting, The Pink Panther, Somewhere In Time, and Forrest Gump. The program concludes with the piece that first put jazz and classical music together in possibly the most famous pairing of piano and orchestra —George Gershwin’s Rhapsody In Blue.

Broadway stars Melissa Errico, Gary Mauer and Marc Kudisch join the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus in an evening of music by the incomparable Rodgers & Hammerstein. All the hit tunes from the great shows of Rodgers & Hammerstein are on the “Playbill” — The King & I, Oklahoma, Carousel, South Pacific and, of course, The Sound of Music. Now that’s some enchanted evening!

For the 2008 edition of the most popular Holiday event in the Tri-State, we present “Christmas Through the Eyes of Children” featuring the internationally renowned Indianapolis Children‘s Choir. They will join the Orchestra and the Evansville Children‘s Choirs in an enchanting and inspiring program which will include music from the films Polar Express and Home Alone.
