Carlos Pérez, Guitar
|
Celebrate two musical gems from Argentina and Spain. Ginastera’s Variaciones Concertantes bursts with a soulful passion. Feel the Latin rhythms of Argentina’s dance-infused music. Next, Chilean guitarist Carlos Pérez (winner of the 2006 Rodrigo International Guitar Competition) is soloist in Rodrigo’s Concierto para una Fiesta — a festive setting for this Spaniard’s celebratory music.
Then the Beethoven Symphony Cycle continues with his bold Symphony No. 8. Brace yourself for one of the most in-your-face openings of all his nine symphonies and one of the fastest, high-voltage, virtuosic endings ever written for orchestra.
