Alfred Savia is hoping for a repeat performance - an overseas sightseeing tour conducted by the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra and Evansville Museum - that draws 30 to 50 people to Greece and Rome next summer.
Anyone interested in taking the two-week trip (July 18 through Aug. 1, 2007) should attend a 7 p.m. meeting Wednesday at the Evansville Museum or a 7 p.m. meeting Jan. 13, also at the museum. The second meeting will feature a representative of ACIS of Boston, the tour company.
This is the second time the museum and orchestra have teamed up for a trip led by Savia and his wife, Kitty, and museum director John Streetman. Two years ago there was a "Renaissance" tour of Venice, Florence and Rome.
"This time we're calling it 'From Ancient Greece to Ancient Rome,'" said Savia, who is Italian.
"We'll begin in Greece, stay in Athens a few days, then go to southern Italy and Siciliy, then fly to Palermo and to Rome."
There will be a four-day optional extension to the Amalfi Coast. Costs are still being finalized.
